Strategic Steps for Indonesian MSMEs to Go Global

Surabaya, 5 December 2024 – Export Center Surabaya as an extension of the Directorate General of National Export Development is collaborating with BSI UMKM Center Surabaya City on the "UMKM Series Strategic Steps for MSMEs Go Global", to provide information about exports as a form of facilitating prospective and novice MSME exporters assisted by BSI UMKM Center Surabaya City, totaling 18 participants. Mr. Nugroho Agung Dewanto, as Retail Financing Business Deputy of BSI RO VIII Surabaya, said in his speech that BSI as a Sharia Bank is committed to continuing to help develop the businesses of MSMEs, both through financing, coaching and collaborating with related parties such as the Surabaya Export Center, it is hoped that this activity will provide benefits to the participants. The presentation of material by Mr. Aksamil Khair as the Surabaya Export Center Technical Personnel in the field of Implementing the Results of International Trade Agreements, InaExport and Relations between Institutions was divided into two parts. First, he explained the role of the Surabaya Export Center in assisting export MSMEs through consultation facilities, business matching, trade dispute mediation, and collaboration with the Indonesian Trade Attaché and ITPC. Second, discussing the definition, benefits and regulations of exports, as well as the importance of market research and product promotion through exhibitions and social media. This export training activity will continue on December 12 2024. The material presented by Mr. Arie Indarwanto as Export Procedures, Logistics and Customs Technical Personnel at the Surabaya Export Center was about export financing, which includes setting prices for MSME products as well as various types of incoterms that are often used in exports such as FOB, EXW and CIF, which also cover duties, risks and costs related to international transactions. Incoterms here function as the main terms in commercial invoices to reduce the risk of misunderstandings in export transactions. The last agenda before closing is a question and answer session. In this session Mr. Arie Indarwanto discussed participant questions regarding HPP calculations when using FOB and how to edit prices on the Inaexport.id page
