Assistance for Export-Oriented SMEs by the Surabaya Export Center in Mojokerto City

Surabaya, 16 December 2024 – Offline-based activities with the aim of assisting Export-Oriented SMEs have been held in the City of Mojokerto. In collaboration with the Mojokerto City Department of Cooperatives, Micro Business, Industry and Trade, the Surabaya Export Center provided material regarding export procedures, InaExport, and export costs to 13 local business actors. Located at the Maja Bharama Wastra Batik IKM Center, Mojokerto City, participants who attended and took part in the "Export-Oriented IKM Assistance" activity were business actors from various fields, such as fashion, both shoes and batik, to food and beverage business actors. Mr. Arie Indarwanto as ECS Technical Staff for Procedures, Customs and Export Financing, divided the material into two. The first material is an introduction to export costs with points such as PPJK costs, shipping costs, illustrations of export costs, examples of export calculations, pre-calculations for exports, business permits, export service processes, general export procedures and facilities that can be obtained, easy export tips for MSMEs, Synergy of Government Support - BUMN - Associations Encouraging MSME Exports. In the second material, it was presented regarding "TOP 3 Incoterms" which consisted of the meaning and types of Incoterms as well as the differences between FOB, EXW, CIF (Cost, Insurance & Freight). The next agenda is follow-up if there are business actors who have difficulty using InaExport, especially at the product upload stage. In the question and answer session, information regarding shipping details and types of financing that are classified as minimal risk for MSMEs and how to calculate them to avoid losses was provided in response to participants' questions. The education carried out by the Surabaya Export Center, especially under the guidance of the Mojokerto City Department of Cooperatives, Micro Enterprises, Industry and Trade, needs to be known and studied by business actors to avoid losses. Apart from education, the Surabaya Export Center provides consulting services for SMEs to improve and promote their products to the global market, one of which is through the InaExport platform.
